Whether you are someone who prefers the commercials to the game, can’t get enough football or like me could care less about either, this effort to spread the message of hope found in John 3:16 during the “Big Game” in February is worth noting.
What’s refreshing about the Lookup 316 effort is that it’s not about selling potato chips or beer, but spreading a message of substance and value in a culture that often gets so fixated on things with so little lasting value.
It shouldn’t be surprising Fox Sports has reportedly rejected the commercial for its national broadcast for containing “religious doctrine” but the Lookup 316 ad will still be airing in some regional markets and on the website www.lookup316.com.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that we should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Now that’s something we all should be fired up about.
