I redid the motel rooms 4 and 5 with the help of my husband Bob and daughter Leah. We also had five volunteers (youth and adults) a few times from our church- Central United Methodist church in Linwood, NJ.
The money we utilized for materials was raised by an Easter Egg fundraiser that the UMW circle that I lead called Abigail Too, also from Central UMC, had this April. We earned $1,190 and donated all of that to the camp.
As always, things are never as easy as you anticipate. We had a cracked floor of the Room 4 shower which we had to remove and rip up the floor underneath and refill and replace a new floor and plumbing. Sheetrock was replaced as well as trim in both rooms 4 and 5 around the bathroom doors and the ceiling. New ceiling fans were also put up in rooms 4, 5, 6 and 8.
This is a difficult process as we live an hour away so we had to measure, plan, purchase materials and transport tools, etc. each weekend.
