Today is the first full day of Junior High 1 and, what a fun, eventful day it was. We had a swim test, we took our camp photos and we had ham for dinner. A great dinner it was.
The lake was the popular activity of the day as everyone was looking for a way to beat the heat, including the Permanent Staff (and yours truly) who jumped into the lake after all the campers were dismissed to their dorms to get ready for dinner and the evening service.
Our speaker, James, talked about Paul and his journey, relating it to Anakin from Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith as Paul and Anakin took similar journeys except opposite ways. Paul ran toward Christ and Anakin toward the Dark Side. His reasoning for showing the clip besides the fact that it related to his sermon. We got to see a little green dude, referring to Yoda, throw two enemy soldiers against a wall. It was pretty neat.
Speaking of James, he has chosen to use a more human microphone, his golden pipes, his vocal cords over the more electronic microphone. So, for this week, we will be unable to bring you the sermon recordings but, I’ll try to give you a pretty detailed description of what he spoke about.
