Long-time friend of the camp Courtney Jones will be among the competitors at the Philadelphia SheRox triatholon on August 3rd. Be sure to keep her in your prayers — the race is a test of endurance, will and strength. You don’t ready yourself to swim a half-mile in the Schukyll River, ride a bike for 15.5 miles and run another 3.1 miles overnight.
This is what Courtney — a past dean, volunteer and permanent staff member at Delanco — had to say in a recent e-mail to friends:
…Preparing for (and actually participating in!) this triathlon has been a parallel in a spiritual/emotional journey I’ve been on since January. The physical changes that have taken place in my body during my training are becoming more obvious each day and are the tangible results of the journey…
Hebrews 12:1- Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
