Favorite Delanco Camp memories: Simple yet powerful skits done by staff when i was a camper, countless summers of getting gussied up for dinner, playing Pirates of the Caribbean, 10th Ave concerts, ‘christmas’ during the kindness war of ’06, sitting and praying in the back of the tabernacle after the altar call … I could go on. 🙂
Bible verse you think speaks most to where you are right now: Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” I hold to this while everything around me changes, and am comforted by it whenever I’m overwhelmed.
Do you have a hidden talent? I can recite the Greek alphabet (thank you, Elisa Rambo). I’m fluent in American Sign Language… and I cut hair. now all UN-hidden talents.
When did you become a Christian? 5th grade-ish at Delanco. That was when i changed the spelling of my nickname from ‘katie’ to ‘katey.’
What made you want to work at camp this summer? I love God, and being a part of the mission of Delanco Camp. I love feeling like I’m using everything I have–mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually–in a ministry that meant so much to me as a camper.
What are you looking forward to most this summer? Being surrounded by like-minded Christian brothers and sisters, sharpening my faith and sharpening others. Also, I look forward to moments where i can be an encouragement to campers and staff.
Name something unique about you that didn’t come up in your permanent staff interview: I’m thinking/praying about joining the Peace Corps. 🙂
