Today marks the first full day of Jr. High 2, and it’s a hot one. Usually after lunch, before free time actually starts, the campers participate in a planned recreation activity. Today, however, the campers had to participate in the swim test that enabled them to swim in the deep end if they passed. At the start of free time, the craft shop opened and some of the campers created duct tape wallets. Another group of campers played volleyball with their counselors.

Most of you know the theme for this week is Live Extreme, based on John 10:10b. The verse says “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” The goal for the week is to make a major impact on the campers so they can receive the gift that God has waiting for them. Mike Bill, one of the deans, wants the campers to return home with a new attitude that reflects Jesus so others may see him in them. The campers are going to hear and learn about extreme living in their Bible classes; from the evangelist, Jake Lee; and from the missionary speaker, Carman Daddario.

Delanco Camp is blessed to have Dove-award winning band, Tenth Avenue North, on staff this week leading worship. We’ll be having a special event tonight—a Tenth Avenue North concert. The campers will get to hear songs from their albums, Over and Underneath, and The Light Meets the Dark, and maybe even some new songs as well.

The campers are all very excited for this week and what it will offer them. Last night, a lot of the campers went up to the altar and prayed. It was amazing to see God working in them that early in the week; I have a feeling that this week will surely accomplish its goal and much more.
