christmasstory

Before I write about what we did last evening and today, I need to report on the fun our campers had Wednesday night. That night’s game was A Christmas Story. The campers had a lot of fun locating clues and determining where the main characters were hiding. The staff members who participated really got into the characters they played. A team of girls won, so snowflake holes were punched into their point cards. Depending on the amount of snowflakes on a card, campers can get a reward.

Today, the campers tried to fit in as many fun activities before the last day of Junior High 1. This morning at the Great White North morning show, the hosts (played by Dan Ulrich and Jon Henry) interviewed some celebrities—or should I say celebrity impersonators. They talked with Ashton Kutcher, Justin Bieber and Phil Gorog, a celeb who’s popular with the campers. When interviewing Shaun White, Jon’s character learned how to do a trick on a snowboard with some help from Sarah Herman.

avalancheDuring today’s Team Time, the campers participated in a bobsled race. They decorated their sleds and got fancy with some face paint. Josh Saunders, leader of team Avalanche, showed off some great upper body strength while pulling a team mate on the bobsled. This feat earned them the winning spot. The teams showed a lot of enthusiasm while decorating and cheering on their teammates. The Grizzlies even had a mascot.

Last night was the Delanco Snow Ball. The campers enjoyed food, refreshments, music and contests. Dave Ralph took photos of the campers in front of a winter backdrop. The campers enjoyed singing along with every song. Some people dressed up for the occasion: Mike Ralph wore a button-down ruffled shirt with plaid pants; Dave Ralph sported a white suit jacket over a short-sleeved button-down black shirt with a red bow tie. The ball was a New Year’s event, which fit in with our winter theme. The campers welcomed the year 2000 with a balloon drop and a bubble maker. It was a great way to approach the end of a week at camp.
