April is a significant month in terms of the history of Delanco Camp. It was in April, 111 years ago, that our camp meeting association was officially formed. At the time, the camp grounds were located in the town of Delanco and the camp was known as Fletcher Grove Camp Meeting. The camp was named after the guy who generously donated his land, not as I used to assume, after early Methodist theologian John Fletcher.

A strip mall now sits on the hollowed ground where early camp leaders like George Ridout once cast a vision for a new camp meeting but thanks to George Starsmeare we have some incredible color photos of the old camp taken in 1955 we can share with you.
