It was quite an evening! I had the privilege to attend the Delanco Camp first annual dinner and thought that it was a wonderful event.

Friends of Delanco representing all ages were gathered to celebrate the ministry of the camp and to introduce it to people that were invited to find out more. The program was well planned and offered the opportunity to hear from a camper, a parent, a permanent staff member, camp President Laurie Rambo and a keynote address from Rev. Carlton Bodine about the history of the camp and the faithfulness of its leaders to continue the ministry for the past century.

Guests had the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful meal, share stories, catch up with old friends and take part in a silent auction to raise money for camp. The baskets in the auction were quite a hit and I know that camp greatly benefited from the generosity of those who won each item.

There was also a time to celebrate and honor the work that Keith Zane has done over the last number of years as the Caretaker. The pictures and the standing ovation could not possibly sum up the gratitude that we all feel for his service and sacrifices. Dan Ulrich and Cheryl Turk did a great job emceeing the evening.

Thank you to all of you who took part in the planning, the gathering and donating of resources and time, and to those of you who attended. I know that we all believe in this ministry and I think this dinner was a great start to a tradition that will help us promote and continue the work that God is doing at Delanco.

If you haven’t already seen them, there is a gallery of photos Jen’s husband, Julio Nieves, took at the dinner HERE.
