Many of the same faces are back again for another year at Teen II, including many who are attending their last eligible youth camp. We hope and pray that God has worked in their hearts here at Delanco and as they transition into the world of adulthood that they will become the future leaders of the camp and their churches.
This year our theme is “I am” and the idea behind it is finding out who Christ is and then finding our identity through Him. We are blessed to have Jamie Damm (left) with us as our evangelist for the week. Many of you know him from working out here for years on staff and then being a dean. He is now a youth pastor in NORTH Jersey (he likes to call it central but we all know its not). Sunday night, he spoke about being rebels for Christ, no not lunatics, but rather rebelling the norm. He gave many tangible ways to do this, such as loving the outcasts (huh, that sounds like the God we worship) and not spending an excessive amount of money on the latest things, but rather getting quality things we need and being charitable with the rest of that money.
Monday night, Jamie talked about how we need to know where we’ve come from to be able to look forward. He talked about the woman caught in the act of adultery and how Christ did not condemn her, though he also did not condone her actions. Christ said, “Has no one condemned you? Then neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin.”
We’ve been having a blast with the campers of course; “women wrestling for men” (top), tie dying (bottom), Frisbee on a super hot soccer field, classes, great food, and much more. Please pray with us for the spirit to continue to move in this place this week and for the campers to be drawn into a deep relationship that continues to grow after they leave this place.
