Fondest Camp Memory: Prayer walk my first year as a dean. Say scripture lived out: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12
Favorite snack from the store: Gatorade
Favorite camp meal: Sloppy Joe and pepperoni on pretzel rolls
Favorite camp activity: All of them, however I’ll go with volleyball because camp is where my love for the game was cultivated.
Favorite camp night game: Night games are pretty much hide and seek with a twist. Skits can really make a good night game, in my opinion. A couple of years ago we made Sandlot the game for Teen 2 and the skit was awesome. So with that in mind, I’ll go with Sandlot, though many have never played it.
Elevator Testimony: I’m terrible at these. I am saved and have been given eternal life, not because I am a good person, but because of God’s grace and my acceptance. I am in no means a perfect man, but it is Christ who is in me who directs me to good and forgives the wrongs I do when I confess.
How did you first discover Delanco Camp? My sister went first as she was older. I just followed suit.
What is a dean and what made you want to be a dean? We are put in place to run the program that is responsible for showing the youth who Christ is. There were many people who were deans before me that led programs that had huge impacts on my life. I just desired to continue that for the youth of today.
What’s the theme for your week and why? Legacy. We all leave a legacy behind. The way we live, the way we serve. What is the legacy you will leave behind? I think the question is enough to get all of us to a place of introspection and hopefully action.
Why should people come to camp the week you are in charge? God moves in mighty ways at Delanco. We will be a part of that this summer and we will have a great time too.
What surprises do you have in store? New ways to encounter God, new games.
What are you most looking forward to this summer? Seeing our youth grow. And another great week of camp!
