If you were around Delanco Camp at all in the mid-’90s the name Cast Iron Blimp should ring a bell. They formed about 15 years ago when some of my fellow campers at the time (I’m old I know) – Matt Haviland, Fred Schwenger and Jeremiah Schwenger – started goofing around.
The band went on through a variety of lineups to record a couple albums, play lots of shows and change its name from Cast Iron Blimp to CIB to Cib (rhymes with bib). You can hear some of their tunes at http://www.myspace.com/cibmusic.
But the real reason for this post is to announce that Matt, Fred and Jeremiah are reuniting to play Bodinestock II on Aug. 22. As Fred posted on his Facebook page earlier today, “the blimp flies again.”
They’re planning to start practicing this week. Post some song requests in the comments section below and I’ll be sure to pass them along.
Advance tickets for Bodinestock are available HERE.
