3Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning it’s shame, and sat down on the right hand of the throne of God. -Hebrews 12:1-2

It’s Monday, so that means another camp has begun here at Lake Agape! Last night, we welcomed a fantastic group of 7th, 8th, and 9th graders for Junior High 1. And let me tell you, I already know that it’s going to be an incredible week here at Delanco Camp!

Last night, the service began with a skit. There was a line of folding chairs, forming into a bench, with each seat labeled “Sin”. One by one, each passerby would be tempted and sit in the chairs only to find out they were then stuck to their seats. It wasn’t until someone mentioned that they were going to a place called Delanco Camp that they were able to stand up and follow them.

That brief little skit performed by some of the staff members last night perfectly sums up this weeks theme: Unstuck. We live in a messy, sinful world, and as a fallen people, it is so easy for us to be tempted and entangled with the things of this world that we start to lose focus of what really matters. And the only one who can make us unstuck is Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for you and me.

As Christians, we’re called for so much more than this sinful world offers. But it’s important to remember that the only thing that can truly get us “unstuck” from sin and this world is the blood of Jesus Christ.
