Secondly, your blog post.
After a steamy, hot day, the weather was much more agreeable today. With that said, out-of-water activities, such as Samurai Frisbee, boating (technically not an out-of-water activity but, you get my drift…), volleyball, ping-pong, and foosball, just to name a few, became the favorites for the day.
For those unfamiliar with the sport of Samurai Frisbee, one person, the samurai, stands in the middle of a circle holding one or two baseball bats, it is his or her choice as to how many bats he or she wishes to hold. Surrounding the samurai is a group of opposing samurais attempting to hit the bat-wielding samurai with a Frisbee. The one that does this successfully becomes the new samurai.
There are several modifications to this game, which we played today, including, a game with multiple Frisbees (sometimes up to 10 or 12) being tossed towards one samurai. For this version, the second bat became more widely used. Another version of the game was played with dual samurais. For this version, two samurais stood in the middle back-to-back working as a team to fend off the onslaught of Frisbees. Some great duos emerged from the pack to defend their turf, others, not so much.
Well, that’s all I’ve got, good night!
